Our food and our family is at the heart of everything we do.
The cornerstone of Laxeiro is our rich Galician roots bringing the authentic tastes off the land and the sea of our north western Spanish Province. From our rural family farming communities, traditional fresh farmers markets and biodynamic wine makers sprawled across lush mountainous landscapes peppered with eucalyptus trees; to the famous village fresh fish markets and fishmongers on our rugged atlantic coastline.
We have always taken great care sourcing the finest ingredients from our beautiful homeland Galicia. Oweing our authentic Spanish Celtic taste to our long and trusted personal relationships formed when we originally established over 34 years ago, as the first Spanish delicatessen – Charcuterie in East London, opened in 1982 by Isabel Rios.
In 1996 Laxeiro evolved in partnership with Isabel’s Son Eduardo Paris, linking her traditional ethos of brining home grown Galician produce and Eduardo’s passion for honest Spanish food served with exceptional quality and exquisite hand picked wines.
Today Laxeiro prides itself with authenticity, serving our fantastic fresh seasonal cuisine that is central to our community.
Isabel passionately maintains her delicious ties from their provincial homeland. Whilst Eduardo scours the Spanish landscape personally visiting vineyards and hand sourcing the finest Spanish wines, to match their blend of traditional Galician dishes with contemporary Spanish influences.
Eduardo, passionate about simple honest fresh ingredients, also utilises his local knowledge and trusted relationships with the local East End family run butchers, fishmongers and fruit and veg suppliers.
